for 1880, with re-blued round 22in. barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight with nickel blade, buckhorn rear-sight, the top of barrel signed 'WINCHESTER-REPEATING-ARMS, NEW HAVEN CT. KINGS-IMPROVEMENT-PATENTED-MARCH 29 1866, OCTOBER 16 1860' (refreshed), iron receiver with sliding dust-cover and screw down guide rail, straight-hand butt-stock with a smooth iron 'shotgun' heel-plate, walnut fore-end, iron nose-cap, half-length magazine tube, competent re-finish throughout (some pitting below finish)
